Meet Wave: An Odds Assistant You Can Actually Talk To

A first look at Wave, the AI assistant coming to Momentum Bets. Ask about line movement, compare books, chart a market's history, or draft an alert by chatting.

Luke Holmberg, Co-Founder4 min read

We've been building something we're genuinely excited about: an assistant that sits on top of all the odds data Momentum Bets already tracks and answers questions about it in plain English. It's called Wave, and it's in early access now - currently with a small internal group while we tighten the bolts, rolling out to subscribers from there.

What you can ask it

Wave has direct access to the same live and historical odds data that powers your alerts - every covered book, sport, and league. Which means questions like these get real answers, not vibes:

  • "What moved today?" - rank the biggest moneyline moves across the slate and flag what stands out.
  • "Chart tonight's Lakers line since open." - a line-movement history, drawn, not described.
  • "Compare the spread across every book you track." - book-by-book prices for one game, side by side.
  • "How far did the total move from open to close?" - and what the final score ended up being, if you ask.
  • "Explain closing line value like I'm new." - it's happy to teach; jargon-free is the default. (Our CLV explainer covers the same ground in article form.)

It drafts alerts, too

Wave can turn a conversation into a criteria draft: "draft an alert for when an NFL spread moves 3+ points before kickoff" hands you a ready-to-review setup, the same way the new plain-English drafting in the criteria builder does. It can also look at the alerts you already have and point out gaps - a league you follow with no coverage, a market you've left dark.

What Wave won't do

The product ships with a one-line disclaimer we mean literally: Wave explains odds data. It never gives betting advice. Ask it what to bet and it will show you what the market is doing and leave the decision where it belongs - with you. That's not a limitation we grudgingly accepted; it's the design. Momentum Bets is an informational service, and Wave is the same idea in conversational form.

When you'll get it

Early access is underway, and plan tiers on the pricing page show where it lands: a few chats a week on Free, daily analysis on Sharp, and unlimited use with trend analysis on Pro. No hard dates to announce yet - we'd rather ship it right than ship it Friday. Watch this space.
